It seems that summer has finally arrived but with Irish weather one can never be sure. Its a timely reminder that Brick Feile 2024, Ireland's premier event for LEGO fans, is fast approaching and we'll be on site at CityNorth Hotel in about 2 months. If you want to see what the brick.ie team has been up to this year, get stuck into our super-sized brick pits and participate in the FairyBricks mosaic build then don't miss out. Tickets are only available at https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/brick-feile-tickets-708431145627
Of course, we've been busy with other events. Our inaugural fundraising event for Taney Parish in Dublin was a great success and we hope to be back next year. Prior to that we participated at a brilliant event in Bangor, Northern Ireland.
As we approach the end of 2023, the brick.ie team wish all their supporters and members the very best for this holiday season.
Its been a busy few months with many of our members participating in several LEGO events at home and abroad and we've seen a new LEGO Store open in Blanchardstown. We are already planning our 2024 event calendar and tickets for our flagship event, Brick Féile, to be held once again next July at CityNorth Hotel are now available. https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/brick-feile-tickets-708431145627
We'd also like to congratulate the RTE Radio jnr team for a very professional production of their visit to Brick Féile 2023. Well done to all involved https://www.rte.ie/radio/rtejrradio/clips/22306348/
Looking forward to seeing what everyone builds as we approach 2024. Remember you'll have an extra day for building in February 2024!
The Admin team.
Welcome to summer.
It doesn't quite feel like it yet but we've already kicked off some smaller events as our build team prepares for Brick Féile, Ireland's premier event for LEGO(R) fans later this summer. Last weekend we were in Belfast for a fundraiser for St Jude's Parish. We were so well looked after, we already have plans to return to Belfast, this time to St Marks Dundela on 4 and 5 November for another parish fundraiser. Check out the fantastic pictures on our Facebook page.
Before our big event, a small team will also be attending the Cork Summer Show in June for the first time. We'll be bringing some of our LEGO art and hopefully will get a chance to meet some of our Munster members in person.
Plans are well advanced for Brick Féile at CityNorth Hotel near Dublin Airport this 15 and 16 July. This is brick.ie's flagship event with many international builders supplementing our own experienced and talented team.
Welcome to 2023. We hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas and we can't wait to see what people have been building over the holiday period.
While our monthly in-person meetings for members resumed in 2022, we hope to recommence some of our smaller LEGO displays in 2023. Please stay in touch with our Facebook page for details.
On the larger event side of things, Ireland's premier event for LEGO fans, Brick Féile, returns on 15 and 16 July to CityNorth Hotel near Dublin airport. Tickets are now on sale. We look forward to seeing what Ireland's leading LEGO builders from brick.ie and our international friends have been up to since our show last year. Brick Feile will also see the return of the Fairy Bricks mosaic challenge to Ireland. For ticket information check out https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/brick-feile-tickets-443188959107
Happy new year
On 16 and 17 July our second Brick Féile charity fundraiser was held. By all accounts our visitors, members and international guests had a great time. A big shout out to our charity partner, Fairy Bricks and all the volunteers who ran fantastic Tombola, mosaic and 90th anniversary duck build challenges and also to our own members who brought fantastic LEGO models and interacted with visitors throughout the weekend. For those interested in our next Brick Féile please put 15 and 16 July 2023 into your diaries. You can stay up to date with all brick.ie events on Facebook here - https://www.facebook.com/brickdotie .
Last weekend, on 6 and 7 August many of the brick.ie team were also at Dublin Comic Con managing another mosaic challenge devised by Fairy Bricks for the new LEGO store opening.
As summer officially starts (it make take a few weeks for the weather to catch up) the brick.ie team are busy creating the models you will see at Brick Féile this 16 and 17 July. Our international line up is also taking shape with exhibitors from the UK, Netherlands, Denmark and Portugal already confirmed and that is in addition to the mosaic challenge team from our charity partner Fairy Bricks. If any Irish AFOLs have interesting builds they think might be a great addition for the event please reach out to us.
In the meantime tickets remain available at https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/brick-feile-tickets-258568504357 but please be aware that some of the family ticket slots are very likely to sell out before the event.
If you can't wait until July for your LEGO fix, some of our Northern Ireland members have been trying some new layouts at various model railway shows.
Welcome to 2022
For those who missed it we managed to participate in a Jack and Jill fundraiser event last November. It was great to display some of our models in the brick again and we really enjoyed live building the LEGO Titanic set which we then dropped up to RTE for the LATE LATE Toy Show.
We continue to host monthly zoom calls for members. Check the forum for details. We are also delighted to confirm that Ireland's premier event for LEGO fans returns on 16 and 17 July to the CityNorth Hotel near Dublin airport. We look forward to seeing what our Irish and international builders have been up to and to the return of Fairy Bricks mosaic building to Ireland. For ticket information check out https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/brick-feile-tickets-258568504357
For anyone needing a reminder of what our exhibitions are about, we were fortunate enough to be featured on Ireland AM for International LEGO Day on the 28 January where we had some some models live in the studio.
Welcome to 2021. Here's hoping it is better than 2020.
While our physical shows are on hold due to Covid we continue to host monthly zoom calls for members. Check the forum for details. Unfortunately we have had to postpone our flagship Brick Féile event again, this time to July 2022 where hopefully we will all be able to safely host events 'in the brick'.
For anyone needing a reminder of what our exhibitions are about, we were fortunate enough to be featured on Ireland AM for International LEGO Day on the 28 January where we had some some models live in the studio. Those needing their LEGO event fix can check out the main segment here: https://www.virginmediatelevision.ie/player/show/809/180968/0/International-Lego-Day .
We also had some models in the Arnotts Department Store Christmas Windows over the holiday period just gone.
As previously advised on social media our flagship event with international visitors, Brick Féile, has unfortunately had to be postponed until July 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions. This will give us even more time to prepare our spectacular models for your enjoyment and it facilitates both the mosaic team from our favourite charity Fairy Bricks and our large contingent of international builders who we hope will once again be in a position to travel with their unique models. Notwithstanding the postponement, we are very hopeful that another Fairy Bricks delivery of sets to Irish hospitals can be undertaken later in the year when restrictions have been lifted somewhat.
The LEGO hobby is well-positioned for building at home. LEGO Shop at Home deliveries are continuing and we were delighted to note that the exclusive LEGO Idea House sets normally only available in Billund have been made available online, albeit only to Irish, UK and Danish customers.
We are delighted to advise that, Brick Féile, Ireland's premier event for Irish LEGO® fans, will be returning this 18 and 19 July only to the CityNorth Hotel.
Organised by brick.ie, prepare to be amazed at the most fantastic LEGO® creations yet assembled at an Irish event, and all in support of the charity Fairy Bricks which since our successful 2019 event expects to have provided over €80,000 of LEGO® sets to Irish hospitals.
Exclusive to Brick Féile will be our international model builders to share their creative genius as well as a first and perhaps only opportunity to see spectacular custom models from Ireland's most creative LEGO® builders. All our Irish and international master-builders will be on hand to chat and divulge their latest tips and techniques.
Of course, everyone likes to get their hands on bricks.
